Whimbrel -- an odd bird

Well, I mean a rare visitor to Japan. Saw these birds on my way home. I had gone to a grassy spot to shoot damselflies, but gave up because of strong winds.

A Little Egret

I saw a dragonfly a couple of days ago and bicycled back to the area, about a kilometer away from our home. I saw the egret and just slowly set up the tripod and got a few shots. I forgot completely about the dragonfly.
