Whimbrel -- an odd bird

Well, I mean a rare visitor to Japan. Saw these birds on my way home. I had gone to a grassy spot to shoot damselflies, but gave up because of strong winds.

Lovely to see these curlews, Kevin. Many years ago, I was a leader in the Pioneer Girls group at the church and my name was "Curlew". I wonder if the girls thought that I had a huge beak! :)
